On 14.12.2022, the Austrian Parliament was fully committed to SDG 5 Gender Equality.

Gender equality is a very special SDG. On the one hand, it is a sustainable development goal in its own right; on the other hand, it is a cross-cutting issue and interacts with all other Sustainable Development Goals.

The focus of the presentation, which aroused the interest of many delegates, was on three topics: structural violence against women, the unequal distribution of (child-related) care work, and the still high gender pay gap and gender pension gap in Austria.
